In 2013 we were awarded our first prestigious Houzz Award for Best For Service, followed by another Service Award in 2014. In 2015 and 2016 Houzz awarded us further awards in Best For Service and Best For Design followed by Best For Service in 2017 and 2018. We offer fully bespoke interiors with all furniture and joinery starting off as raw materials, allowing us to create the best practical and unique solutions for your property. As Designer Makers we place a lot of emphasis on getting the design right in terms of your needs and its visual and functional qualities.  Our aim is to make the fitted furniture or freestanding furniture exceptional and not ordinary and to differentiate our work from mass produced furniture.

 

We have been trading since 2001 and are very much a design led furniture and joinery company. The company was established by Andrew Carpenter a Furniture Design Graduate of Ravensbourne University in London. His designs have been shown at Aram Designs, ReDesign and the International Furniture Fair in New York. Before establishing Carpenter & Carpenter he worked as a Furniture Designer for leading furniture design and manufacturing companies. All the staff have backgrounds in Design or as skilled craftsmen and joiners. This experience and knowledge allows us to bring extra qualities to your project, ensuring that your commission works perfectly, is unique, is made to budget, is built to last and will add value to your property.

 

We take great pride in the work we produce and attention to detail is paramount. How an edge is sanded and what sort of micro bevel or radius is applied in the workshop makes a difference to how a paint or lacquer appears and wears. Choosing veneer that matches and designing tolerances and ways for natural timber to move and breathe in your home are just a few considerations that are implemented.

 

A wide variety of high quality materials are offered to create original solutions such as; solid timber, glass, man made boards, veneers and stainless steel. Sustainability is taken seriously and the timber used is chosen carefully from managed forests in Europe and North America, manmade boards are certified by the FSC.
